Kuala Lumpur – The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) has put aside RM1 million grant for deserving projects for this year’s MSC Malaysia Intellectual Property (IP) Creators Challenge (MSC Malaysia IPCC) competition. MSC Malaysia IPCC aims to nurture new talent in content creation by turning ideas into reality and to promote the creation of quality content that can be showcased and marketed globally. Saifol Bahri Mohd Shamlan, MDeC vice president for industry development said it is time to groom the next generation of content entrepreneurs or contentpreneurs and he hoped that the MSC Malaysia IPCC would be the catalyst to achieve the goal. “The country’s digital creative content industry has seen some seriously exciting movements the past couple of years and we expect the industry to do favourably despite the economic slowdown that is affecting other sectors,” he added. The MSC Malaysia IPCC is the brainchild of MDeC, the driver of the MSC Malaysia initiative and the organisation entrusted to develop and promote the national ICT agenda that also includes creative multimedia and digital content development. The winners of the digital comic category will receive a sum of RM20,000 each while a RM 50,000 awaits the winners for the other categories.
