Korea – South Korean’s Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Darmstadt University of Technology to set up an R&D centre for IPTV and next-generation networking technologies in the German state of Hesse. According to a ETRI spokesperson, the new R&D centre could be a springboard into the rest of Europe, with ETRI and the Darmstadt University of Technology planning to research so-called green ICT, ICT convergence and manufacturing, IPTV, contents software development and ubiquitous computing.
