Singapore/Hong Kong – Nickelodeon Asia enhanced its reach and connectivity with children in Southeast Asia with the launch of two localized Kids’ Choice Awards on November 29 for the first time in Indonesia and the Philippines. The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCAs) is an awards show that gives kids the power to vote for their favorites in movies, television, music and sports – and honor their opinions with a live show filled with the children’s favorite stars. “These two award shows are examples of Nickelodeon’s continual commitments to kids and also a key milestone for our business in Southeast Asia,” remarks Christopher James, senior vice president and GM of Nickelodeon Asia. The Kids’ Choice Awards Indonesia 2008 was held in Jakarta at Balai Sarbini. Hosted by renowned Indonesian actors Tora Sudiro, Ringgo and actress/singer Tasya, the show was broadcast live on Global TV. In the Philippines, the Kids’ Choice Awards Philippines 2008 took place at the Aliw Theatre and was hosted by celebrity Michael V. Taped live, the show will be broadcast to home viewers in January 2009. Air date will be announced at a later date.
