Hilversum – Endemol’s new operation in the Middle East has closed a series of deals in the region. New Talpa game show format Divided and ‘no-talent’ show Top of the Flops, was picked up by Abu Dhabi TV. The former, which will be available at MIPTV 2008, is scheduled for a first 26-episode series to launch during primetime in May 2008, while the latter will debut as a 12-episode primetime run in October 2008. Also, Talpa entertainment format M/F was acquired by MBC for a 12-episode primetime run in October 2008. Dubai TV commissioned Endemol UK’s new entertainment format The Kids Are All Right for 13 primetime episodes that will air in May 2008. New live reality series The Manager will premiere on Rotana Music Channel this November with 9 weekly prime time episodes running alongside daily access shows. These latest deals follow Abu Dhabi TV’s commission of Ton of Cash which will launch October 2008 for 13 primetime episodes. Ziad Kebbi, MD, Endemol Middle East said, “We’ve enjoyed a sustained period of growth since we launched our operation here last November and all the signs are that this is set to continue. There is a real appetite for these kinds of formats in the Middle East and having Endemol’s global library of content behind us puts us in an extremely strong position.”
