New York – 4Kids Entertainment has licensed the children’s animated property Viva Piñata to Australia’s TEN Network, Cartoon Network Latin America and Turkey’s Digiturk JOJO Channel. The series launches on TEN from Feb 15, Cartoon Network Latin America from Apr 1, and Digiturk JOJO Channel from Nov 2008. In Asia, Viva Piñata already airs on Animax in South Korea, Taiwan’s Momo Kids TV, MediaCorp TV12’s Kid Central in Singapore, New Zealand’s TV3, as well as Nickelodeon in Australia and New Zealand. Viva Piñata is also expanding into interactive entertainment through VOD services including 4Kids TV VOD Channel on Comcast and Cox On Demand in 11 million homes in the US; a new social party Xbox 360 video game, Viva Piñata Party Animals, by Microsoft Game Studios, 4Kids Entertainment and Australian developer Krome Studios; as well as the PC debut of the original Viva Piñata game. The 3D CGI animated series in HD is a co-production with Canada’s YTV and was produced by Vancouver-based animation company Bardel Entertainment. 4Kids has exclusive worldwide rights to Viva Piñata for broadcast, home video, music and merchandise licensing.
