Sydney- News Corp’s MySpace.com is partnering with Network Ten’s weekly political affairs program Meet the Press to interact with viewers on contentious issues in the lead-up to the federal election due to be held before the end of this year. MySpace and Ten will premiere a Meet the Press segment tagged Meet the People on Sept. 30 at 8am AEST. This will allow MySpace users to submit questions via video to politicians on a numbers of pre-determined topics including; the environment, the economy, education, immigration and health. Meet the People will run throughout the 2007 election campaign in that timeslot. The questions and answers will be posted on myspace.com/meetthepeople and will also appear on ten.com.au. Ten’s General Manager, Digital Media, Damian Smith, said: “Many leading politicians are turning to social networking sites to attract a brand new set of voters. Like them, we want to reach out to as many people as possible and give them an opportunity to air their political beliefs and view points.”
