Palo Alto, California/Hong Kong – Space Systems/Loral (SSL), a provider of commercial satellites, and Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat), announced on June 12 that AsiaSat 8 has arrived at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, where it will be launched aboard a Falcon 9 launch vehicle by SpaceX. SES-5 satellite launch postponed
Kazakhstan - The launch of an SES-5 satellite was postponed today for technical reasons with the launch vehicle. The satellite is being launched for SES of Luxembourg and was built by Space Systems/Loral. On June 18, Khrunichev engineers at the launch site received an out of tolerance telemetry reading on a first stage subsystem during pre-flight testing. Intelsat 19 suffers setback
Intelsat S.A. has reported a delay in deploying one of the two solar arrays on the Intelsat 19 satellite, which was launched by Sea Launch earlier on. Intelsat and Space Systems/Loral, the manufacturer of the satellite, are investigating the cause and are pursuing corrective actions. The spacecraft is secure at this time in geostationary transfer orbit. Palo Alto, California/ Hong Kong – Space Systems/Loral (SS/L), a provider of commercial satellites, and Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat), have announced the signing of two construction agreements for two communications satellites, AsiaSat 6 and AsiaSat 8.
