Singapore – BBC Worldwide Global Channels will launch its first subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, BBC HD, in Taiwan via Chunghwa Telecom, the territory’s largest operator of broadband multimedia services in April. Consortium acquires Korea’s C&M
Seoul – An MBK Partners and Macquarie Korea Opportunities Fund (MKOF) led-consortium has acquired a 92.5 percent stake in C&M for a total of 2 trillion won (US$2billion). The deal makes C&M, Korea’s second biggest cable operator, the country’s first cable TV operator to be owned by private equity funds.
