MCOT anticipates bigger new media revenue
Bangkok - Broadcaster MCOT expects its new media business to generate revenue of at least 500 million baht (US$15 million) this year, reports the Bangkok Post. MCOT president, Tanawat Wansom says that plans to expand its satellite TV business and website, and to launch digital mobile TV, will drive revenue. Hong Kong - TVB is facing investigation by the Broadcasting Authority over complaints that it restricts affiliated stars and singers from appearing on rival TV stations. Euronews said it plans to start broadcasting rolling news in Persian and Turkish this year, reports AFP. According to the report, broadcasts in Persian, spoken in Iran and Afghanistan, are planned by the end of the year, said the broadcaster. Turkish broadcasts will begin on January 30.
