New figures released on June 23 show that the BBC’s global audience has increased to a record-breaking 265 million people a week. The figures, for 2013/14, represent an increase of 9 million people on the previous year. BBC presenter Komla Dumor dies
Komla, who was born in Accra, Ghana in 1972, was one of Ghana's most prominent journalists. Komla joined the BBC in 2006 after spending a decade of journalism in Ghana. While reporting in Ghana, he received the Ghana Journalist of the Year Award. From 2006 to 2009, he was involved in hosting Network Africa for the BBC World Service before joining The World Today programme.
