Singapore - MobileOne (M1) launched a mobile payment pilot based on near-field communication (NFC) technology, alongside Citibank and Visa. Beginning in May, the three-month trial will allow 300 pilot users to tap and pay, equipped with Visa ‘payWave' readers across the country, according to M1 executives at a joint press briefing. Geneva - Singapore has been ranked the world's fourth most networked economy in a World Economic Forum (WEF) telecoms technology index. Denmark is the world's most networked ready, said the WEF. Sweden ranked second in the annual WEF Networked Readiness Index, which measures communications and information technology availability and use, such as access to mobile phone and internet services.
