Singapore– Terrestrial broadcaster MediaCorp will launch HDTV commercial channel HD5 in Q4 2007 and plans to offer all its channels in HD by 2012. Media Prima increases viewing share and mops up rest of 8TV
Malaysia’s dominant broadcaster Media Prima Berhad (MPB) is acquiring the 20% of 8TV it doesn’t own for RM20 million (US$5.8 million) as it benefits from a 10%-15% surge in sales this year. Indonesia’s Media Nusantara Citra raises $412 million
Indonesia’s largest media company Media Nusantara Citra (MNC) raised US$412 million in its IPO and will spend more than $200 million to expand its media and broadcasting business, including content development and potential acquisitions.
