Asia – FOX International Channels (FIC) continued to see strong momentum from various channels throughout the Southeast Asia region in December last year, with particularly strong viewership recorded for its FOX and Nat Geo Wild brands. Both channels have shown impressive rating performance, as they further gain in popularity in particular geographies and markets around the region. FOX in Singapore continued to show very strong viewership in December last year, outperforming the competition and maintaining the #1 spot among international general entertainment channels for cable and satellite viewers. The # 1 position was first achieved last August, only six months after its launch in Singapore. At the same time, Nat Geo Wild maintains its #1 factual channel ranking in Malaysia-which it has held since its launch in August -out-rating the competition by a double-digit margin. Nat Geo Wild is also the most-watched factual channel in Hong Kong. Nat Geo Wild’s 24-hour dubbing in local languages, including Bahasa Malay, Cantonese and Mandarin, (and very soon Tamil) offers Asian viewers a fully-localized viewing experience. Several other FIC channels also showed strong and growing ratings in the region. Great Migrations, which airs on the National Geographic Channel and premiered in November, has lifted the channel’s year-to-date timeslot rating in Singapore by 170 per cent, in Malaysia by 70 per cent and in Taiwan by 44 per cent.
