Singapore – Food Network Asia had lots to celebrate at its first birthday last night in Singapore. The event, which TV ASIA Plus attended, was held at Ku De Ta, perched high above the city and the site of the channel’s first local production A Culinary Coup, which debuted in April. Hud Woodle, Acting General Manager Food Network Asia, told TV ASIA Plus, that the channel will next dish out its number one US series, The Next Food Network Star, to Asian audiences on Thursday, July 28. The hour-long reality programme that follows a group of foodie hopefuls competing for the ultimate dream job: his or her own Food Network show. In the US, close to 20 million P2+ tuned in to watch the latest season of the show. “We’ve had a great year and seen terrific growth for the channel,” added Woodle. “We have some big plans for Asia in the coming months.”
