Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc. (TBS) has launched a new YouTube channel dedicated to content related to the prolific sports entertainment programme, SASUKE. The channel, which features bilingual videos, was designed to further heighten the appreciation for the programme worldwide.
As SASUKE is more commonly identified in many countries with the U.S. Ninja Warrior programme, the new YouTube channel will include bilingual content for fans of both brands. The SASUKE YouTube channel will feature a range of never-seen-before footages, including interviews with Makoto Nagano and other popular contestants, unaired runs, as well as behind-the-scenes look at the programme’s production process.
Since the show first aired in 1997, SASUKE has been adapted into several local productions around the globe, including Malaysia and Singapore, with Europe to follow suit.
Earlier this year, The SASUKE ASEAN OPEN CUP 2013 was announced to be held in November 2013 in Malaysia with the endorsement of the ASEAN Secretariat and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan as part of the celebration of the 40th year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation. With both the Japanese and Malaysian governments supporting SASUKE, plans for the large-scale international event call for athletes to be invited from Indonesia, India and the other ASEAN countries, and from around the world.
