Foxtel announced on May 1 that Foxtel Play has made its next generation gaming console debut on PlayStation 4 (PS4). This news comes on the heels of April’s launch of Foxtel Play on PlayStation 3 (PS3), which has already been popularly embraced by new subscribers.
This means PlayStation owners will be able to view Foxtel’s content across the Entertainment, Drama, Documentary and Kids Genre Picks as well as its Premium Picks including Sports and Premium Movies & Drama. PlayStation owners can download the Foxtel Play app using a registered PlayStation Network (PSN) account.
Foxtel Chief Operating Officer, Rohan Lund, said, “Foxtel Play on PS3 has already seen an enthusiastic response in the thirty days since launch and today PlayStation 4 joins its predecessor to bring Foxtel’s very best programming to an audience, hungry for great entertainment, at a great price.”
“With today’s expansion of the Foxtel Play partnership to PlayStation 4 in Australia, we continue to deliver on our commitment of delivering the very best digital entertainment services that all the family can enjoy,” added Michael Ephraim, Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia.
PlayStation 4 adds to the constantly growing list of devices capable of accessing Foxtel Play, including PlayStation 3, eligible LG and Samsung Smart TVs, selected Samsung BluRay and home theatre systems, Xbox 360 and PC and Mac computers, and means more Australians than ever can use their own devices to subscribe to Foxtel Play’s great line up of programming.
Foxtel Play enables customers with a broadband connection to watch programmes from Foxtel’s drama, entertainment, documentary and movie channels live or on catch-up. It offers customers access to content within minutes of signing up and enables them to subscribe by the month and pay as they go. With no lock-in contract and no installation costs, subscribers can stop and start their subscription month-to-month, to suit their circumstances or viewing choices.
Foxtel Play customers also have access to Foxtel Go as part of their subscription. In addition to their primary device, customers can register Foxtel Go on up to two additional devices including selected iPads and iPhones and selected Samsung Android tablets and smartphones.
