Essential Media and Entertainment, one of Australia’s leading independent international content producers, announces the appointment of Kate Brady as Commercial Director.
Kate joins Essential Media from Network Ten, where her role was Network Business Affairs Manager.
She has held senior commercial and legal positions across Australia’s leading networks and production companies, including ABC, Matchbox Pictures and Cordell Jigsaw Zapruder.
In her previous roles, Kate has been responsible for negotiating local and international production, distribution and talent deals. These include The Wrong Girl, The Sisters, Body Hack, Gogglebox, CRAM, Anh’s Brush With Fame, Life On The Line, Silvia’s Italian Table, Hunters (NBCU SyFy) and various documentaries.
As the newly appointed Commercial Director, Kate will be focussing on commercial interests and business affairs for the company’s television, theatrical and digital content. She will be reporting to CEO Chris Hilton.

Essential Media’s current Australian unscripted production slate includes a second season of Body Hack with Todd Sampson (for Network Ten), Uncharted with Sam Neill (for Foxtel & Prime NZ) and The Living Universe (ABC, Arte France, Curiosity Stream & UKTV).
