Singapore – HBO dominates the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards with 29 wins, the most of any network for the 16th consecutive year, announced in Los Angeles. Big Little Lies swept 8 Emmys, including Outstanding Limited Series, and Outstanding Lead Actress in a limited series or movie. The Night Of and Veep each won five Emmys. The former won Outstanding Lead Actor in a limited series or movie, while the latter won Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
MGM Television’s hit scripted series The Handmaid’s Tale, as well as MGM Television’s hit reality show The Voice (NBC), collectively received 6 Emmy wins at the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards.The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu) is MGM Television and Hulu’s first collaboration. MGM brought the series to Hulu and serves as the series’ producer and international distributor. The series has been sold globally in more than 70 territories and has seen international success.
Last week MGM Television’s Shark Tank won the Award for Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Fargo won the Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a limited series, movie or Special (Original Dramatic Score), and The Handmaid’s Tale won the Award for Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Contemporary Or Fantasy Program (One Hour Or More), the Award for Outstanding Cinematography For A Single-Camera Series (One Hour) and the Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a drama series.
