NATPE, Miami – Keshet International (KI) has licensed its new social experiment format Boxed to Globo Brazil, the country’s largest television network. Produced by Globo in-house, the 12 episode series will launch in 2017.
Kelly Wright, Head of Latin America at Keshet International said, “We are excited that Globo is the first partner to come on board as Boxed begins its global journey. Social experiment formats are definitely in vogue at the moment and is Boxed one of the best on the market. It is revealing, but also heart-warming, dealing head-on with the subject of immovable feuds – it provides a way through. We’re proud to introduce this “take away” programming to the vibrant and plugged-in Brazilian market.”
Boxed is KI’s new social experiment in conflict resolution. Originally created by Keshet for Keshet Broadcasting, the format sees two people in serious dispute embark on a unique experiment. From family members disconnected for years, to those with shocking secrets to reveal, participants enter an expertly designed box with the help of a trained mediator outside to sort out their differences. Whether it takes two hours or two days, they are unable to leave until they’ve worked it out. Featuring real disagreements, real mediation and real solutions, it has universal appeal to resonate with viewers all over the world, helping them to learn how best to resolve their own problems. KI launched the innovative, highly relatable format at MIPCOM 2016.
