MP & Silva announced the re-launch of BallBall a NewsCorp-owned digital football service in Southeast Asia (Indonesia and Vietnam) that provides football highlight clips from the world’s leading football leagues including the English Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A.
MP & Silva worked with Simplestream, a leading provider of video services such as live streaming and live-to-VOD to manage the implementation of the new BallBall video platform which ingests highlight clips into its media manager in real-time from the MP&Silva’s production division within the technology services business unit.
The re-launch of BallBall is one of the developments in the strategic partnership between the two companies, which has seen Simplestream provide its unique multi-screen and OTT video services to some of the world’s leading sports rights holders and distributors, helping MP & Silva’s customers to maximise multi-platform viewership and extend fan engagement across the world.
With a portfolio that includes the FIFA World Cup, Arsenal Football, NFL and the NBA, MP & Silva is working with Simplestream through its Technology Services Ecosystem, ensuring all of its customers can access live streaming, catch-up, social syndication and subscription management services across connected TV, web, tablet and smartphones, through one vendor, and a single unified workflow.
The announcement reflects the demand for live streaming and multi-channel services across sports and entertainment and the need for providers to invest in streamlined multi-platform technologies to increase monetisation and extend audience reach.
