Singapore – International media company Off the Fence (OTF) has announced it will be expanding OTF Asia with the opening of a new distribution hub, operating out of their Singapore office, which will handle sales across Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. The strategic move will enable OTF to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the emerging Asian market. The new distribution centre will be bringing content from the European and North American markets to audiences across these regions, and will also be helping local content producers take their programming to the international marketplace. The Singapore office, launched in 2008, already has an established and experienced team led by OTF Asia’s MD, Tony Chow. In May of this year, Rosie Flynn will relocate from OTF’s Amsterdam HQ to work as senior sales manager out of Singapore. She will be marketing their 2,500 hour library in the region and will be representing Voom HD, WEtv, NHNZ among others. Further appointments are due to be announced later this year. Tony Chow, managing director of Off the Fence Asia, says: “OTF Asia is perfectly positioned within the emerging Asian market, working as a bridge between local content producers and buyers from across the globe. The market here is calling out for distribution expertise and our team has the network of connections, and the commercial and creative expertise, to meet the opportunities presented by Asia’s expanding broadcast industry.” This news follows the announcement in January of OTF Asia’s first in-house production for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, Changemakers: Asia (3 x 60″). The series takes a humorous look at the various technology solutions developed in Asia to tackle global warming.
