SLL and Mediawan Ink Pact for Korea-Europe Remakes & Co-Productions

September 11, 2026 by TVA Editor

SLL, one of South Korea’s leading content studios, and Mediawan, one of the world’s leading independent studios, have signed astrategic partnership , to exchange content IP across Korea and Europe and develop co-productions for the global market.

The agreement was signed on Monday, September 7, at the Lumière Summit in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, attended by SLL as one of Korea’s leading production companies, and Mediawan.

The two companies will explore each other’s scripted catalogs  to identify titles with strong remake potential in Europe and Korea. They will also pursue co-productions that pair their creative and production resources with their respective regional networks. Working from both original material and existing IP , SLL and Mediawan  aim to develop stories rooted in Korean and European cultures that can travel across markets.

Scripted series anchor the partnership, while opportunities in unscripted, documentary and animationwill also be explored.

The partnership brings together two complementary creative ecosystems, united by a shared ambition to develop local stories that resonate with audiences worldwide. It builds on the continued global momentum of Korean storytelling, as well as Mediawan’s growth into a global creative platform operating across five continents and 15 countries and covering every genre.

“Mediawan is a strategic partner with real European production capability and IP across a wide range of genres,” said SLL CEO Joonsuh Park, who attended the summit. “This agreement is a starting point. We want to find new possibilities in the content both companies already hold and to build globally competitive IP that brings Korean and European creative talent together.”

“The global content market is being reshaped at great speed, but audiences everywhere continue to respond to stories with a strong identity, local roots and universal emotional resonance as demonstrated by titles produced by Mediawan companies such as Call My Agent!, Miraculous, Adolescence, Backrooms and Slow Horses ,” said Pierre-Antoine Capton, Co-Founder and CEO of Mediawan. “Korean series have become a powerful global cultural force, while Mediawan has built an international platform for talent and storytelling. Through this partnership with SLL, we are delighted to put the strength of our network at the service of new creative collaborations between Korea and Europe.”

Co-chaired by Korea and France, the Lumière Summit brought together the film and audiovisual industries to mark 140 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. About 200 government officials, executives, public agency representatives and creators from around 50 countries gathered to map out concrete ways to work together on the industries’ future.
