KC Global Media Secures Global Rights to Culinary Series Eat with Xiami

March 18, 2026 by TVA Editor

KC Global Media Distribution will attend this year’s HK FilmArt Forum with their newest acquisition – the popular food series currently on the Bilibili platform, “Eat with Xiami.” Hosted by Foodie Xia (大虾哥) and Chef Mi (小虾米), “Eat with Xiami” is an 11-episode food and travel series that takes viewers on a vibrant journey through Asia’s most iconic streets, hidden eateries, and bold, unconventional flavors.

KC Global Media Distribution will handle the worldwide rights for the culinary travel & culture program which airs now in both English and Mandarin (with English subtitles). Future episodes will explore different areas of Asia and highlight their unique cuisines.

Each 22-minute “Eat with Xiami” episode blends immersive street food adventures with rich cultural storytelling, as Chef Mi offers culinary expertise and insight while Foodie Xia brings humor and the curiosity of an adventurous eater. Together, they uncover the people, traditions, and philosophies behind Asia’s dynamic food scene. With a focus on warmth and authentic connection, the series serves as an inviting gateway for international audiences to experience the vibrant energy of Asian culinary traditions. The first six episodes explore Chengdu’s renowned Sichuan cuisine, while the remaining episodes expand the journey to Yibin, Chongqing, and Tokyo, highlighting the diversity of regional flavors and cultures.

The deal between KC Global Media Distribution and Xiami Video was facilitated by filmmaker & producer Barbara Lee, a valued partner of KC Global Media based in Vancouver, Canada. Lee has over 30 years of experience as a community advocate championing diverse representation and increasing opportunities for Canadian Asian artists across film, television, media and music. She is the founder of the Racial Equity Screen Office (RESO), founder of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (now in its 30th year), co-founder of the Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon (MAMM, now in its 21st year), and founder and producer of the Asians in Movies, Music and Media Summit (AIM3).

Lee stated, “We at RESO are thrilled to partner with KC Global Media Distribution to bring ‘Eat with Xiami’ worldwide, showcasing Canadian-produced content and fostering this Canada–Asia collaboration. We look forward to more projects — including co-productions — that connect audiences globally through the universal language of food, culture, and shared stories.”

“With the rising demand for compelling travel content across Asia — particularly in China – we believe ‘Eat with Xiami’ beautifully showcases some of the region’s most iconic foodie destinations,” said Bonnie Wiryani, Vice President, Revenue and Head of Content Sales,

KC Global Media Distribution. “Our partnership with Xiami Video and Barbara Lee marks the first step toward collaborating with more Asian producers and creatives around the world.”

Ernest Ho, “Eat with Xiami” Executive Producer added, “We are thrilled to partner with KC Global Media Distribution to bring ‘Eat with Xiami’ to audiences worldwide. The series celebrates culture through food, using cuisine as a gateway to stories, traditions, and shared experiences. This marks an exciting new chapter in our journey, where food opens the door to culture, community, and human connection. With KC Global’s international reach, we look forward to exploring diverse food cultures across Asia and beyond, connecting audiences globally through storytelling that is authentic, engaging, and universally relatable.”

KC Global Media continues to build their distribution arm with strong global partnerships and a diverse slate of projects rooted in regional identity with strong international potential. Together they reflect KC Global Media’s continued commitment to connect content creators with new audiences across international borders and to elevate high quality Asian storytelling.

In addition, this acquisition further showcases KC Global Media’s presence in the world of travel & entertainment. KC Global also recently partnered with NextTrip, Inc. a technology-forward media and travel company defining the intersection of Media and Travel. With this expanded footprint, KC Global Media reinforces its long-standing reputation for delivering standout entertainment across its flagship brands AXN, Animax, ONE, KCM and AXN Sports. As KC Global Media Distribution forges deeper partnerships and brings fresh stories to global buyers, KC Global Media Asia continues to build a stronger bridge between regional creators and audiences everywhere. The company remains dedicated to championing creativity, widening access to quality entertainment and contributing to a more vibrant global content landscape.
