OOONA, a global provider of professional management and production tools for the media localization industry, today announced at the Languages & the Media Conference in Berlin that it has partnered with Limecraft to offer its users more subtitling automation in its media localization platform.
Limecraft develops video production automation solutions for the media industry. It has engineered an AI Automated Subtitling workflow that cuts down the time needed to complete same-language subtitling assignments by up to 80%, depending on the content. The solution was originally developed in collaboration with the VRT, the BBC and ITV. “We have recently crossed the threshold of 2% word error rate in some of our transcription tasks – this is huge in terms of productivity improvement,” says Maarten Vervaest, founder and CEO at Limecraft. “We are very excited to feature our bespoke subtitling automation solution in OOONA’s Toolkit and reach an even wider user base. In a modern workspace, language professionals should not have to worry about the technical integration of individual applications. OOONA and Limecraft are committed to providing a bullet-proof integration in terms of security, performance and level of service in general. By taking care of technical complexity, we free up valuable time for our users to concentrate on more creative tasks.” “We are continuously working on enhancing the automation functionalities we offer in our toolkit,” comments Alex Yoffe, OOONA Tools Product Manager. “Human language technologies are a big part of this puzzle: speech recognition, machine translation and synthetic voices too.” “Limecraft has done a great job by making the most of available speech recognition technologies for the subtitling use case,” adds Wayne Garb, founder and CEO at OOONA. “We are happy to add these alongside other third-party technologies we make available to our users.”Ad – Before Content
