Buckle up for Mediacorp’s upcoming action drama Third Rail, a heartracing thriller that would take audiences on an extraordinary ride fuelled with suspense and vengeance. Produced by Singapore-based television and film production company Ochre Pictures, this show would also offer an unprecedented viewing experience through the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) and specially constructed filming sets to bring the onscreen action to life.
Aligned with Mediacorp’s commitment to showcase engaging content to its audiences, Third Rail narrates a tale of crime and revenge through its riveting storyline set in a fictional train, dubbed as ‘KMRT’. The show sets in motion an intense, nail-biting journey of ordinary Singaporeans caught in the middle of an emergency, when sinister hostage takers hijacked and threatened to bomb the carriage of the train they were on. As the danger heightened and with their lives in jeopardy, the passengers were forced to come face to face with their personal issues and raw emotions, prompting suppressed feelings and their true personalities to emerge.
To heighten the impact of the storytelling, the enthralling tale of Third Rail was brought to life with the use of CGI and a visually impactful set comprising of two actual decommissioned train carriages, a structured tunnel, and a part of real railway tracks. Inspired by real locations in Singapore, the fictional train map within the show also included fabricated stations including ‘Crawford’, ‘Midtown’ and ‘Capitol’.
Audiences can also look forward to strong, emotive performances from a diverse and stellar cast of talented actors in the show. These include Rebecca Lim, Andie Chen, Nurul Aini, Shrey Bhargava, Jason Godfrey, Benjamin Heng, Carla Dunareanu and Vanessa Vanderstraaten and more.
Third Rail will be available on meWATCH from 17 October, with two episodes every Monday; Mediacorp’s YouTube Drama Channel from 25 October, with new episodes every Tuesday; and Channel 5 on Mondays at 9.30pm from 31 October.
