Leading UK independent premium factual production company Humble Bee Films announces the Netflix commission of a blue chip natural history series revealing the secret lives of wild baby animals.

Narrated by BAFTA and International Emmy Award-winning actress Helena Bonham Carter, ‘Wild Babies’ (8 x 30’) reveals the moving and rarely seen stories of baby animals in the wild.

The series follows the complex and varied stories of seventeen wild animal families including baby Lions, Wild Dogs, Sea Otters, Orangutan, Elephants, Grizzly Bear, Bottlenose Dolphins and Emperor Penguins. From Antarctica to Alaska, and from Sri Lanka to Namibia across a total of sixteen countries, ‘Wild Babies’ follows their character-driven adventures from birth, through the developmental milestones that shape their future, to the pivotal moments where they come of age.

Heroes will emerge, villains will invade, the ‘Wild Babies’ will need to fight every step of the way if they’re to make it through these early months of their lives.

“‘Wild Babies’ will resonate with a broad family audience, with heart-warming stories that will feel relatable to viewers around the world” said Humble Bee Film’s Executive Producer Charlotte Crosse. “Delivering an ambitious wildlife series during a global pandemic certainly presented new challenges for our team, but what we hadn’t anticipated were the creative opportunities and innovative approaches that also emerged.”

Executive Producers of ’Wild Babies’ are Stephen Dunleavy & Charlotte Crosse and Showrunner is Beth Brooks.

Humble Bee Films is one of the UK’s leading independent premium factual TV production companies and specialises in making high-end natural history, science and history programming for a range of international broadcasters.

The company’s previous productions include: Attenborough’s Life in Colour for the BBC, Netflix and Channel Nine Australia, David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities for UKTV, BBC Worldwide and BBC2; Attenborough and the Giant Elephant for BBC One and CBC; Amazing Pigs for Terra Mater Factual Studios, Smithsonian Channel and Arte; Tasmania: Weird and Wonderful for Terra Mater Factual Studios and BBC2; Planet Parrot and The Real Dingo for Terra Mater Factual Studios as well as BBC2/Animal Planet singles: Walrus: Two Tonne Tusker and Komodo: The Dragon’s Bite.
