Blue Ant Unveils Largest Ever Kids & Family Slate for MIPCOM as BBC Boards Tralala and First International Sales Announced

October 9, 2026 by TVA Editor

Blue Ant Media is heading to MIPJunior and MIPCOM with an expanded kids and family slate of new preschool and bridge animation, kids live action and family programming from Blue Ant Studios and premium third party producers around the world. Leading Blue Ant’s market news is a wave of momentum for Tralala (52 x 7’), produced by Blue Ant Studios and Stretchy for CBC and Sky NZ. Filled with music, humour and warmth, the preschool series follows an inventive seven-year-old frog whose everyday life with her dad, Sid, inspires whimsical adventures, imaginative play and original songs. The endearing co-production is building momentum internationally and Blue Ant is delighted to announce that  BBC’s CBeebies has joined the broadcast and streaming partners for season one  (52 x 7’) taking the series for the UK and Ireland. Adding to the sales momentum are ABC Australia, SVT Sweden and YLE Finland who have also acquired the first season.

Highlights from Blue Ant’s expanded kids and family offering across content distribution and merchandising include the first season of new acquisition Flower & Flour (39 x 7’; Cheeky Little Media and Sinking Ship Entertainment) a fun-filled animated bridge series for ABC Australia, TVOkids, Radio-Canada and Knowledge Kids, featuring Flower, a curious seven-year-old and her best friend Flour, a cheeky cat made of flour, turning everyday moments into big adventures and Little Margo Stories (50 x 3’+ specials; Lightcatcher Media) a beautifully animated non-dialogue preschool series about a little mole who discovers delightful sights for the first time, that started life on Youtube Shorts. Now available as a licensable series, it has so far attracted Disney Jr., CBC and SRC. Closing out the new titles in the Blue Ant kids catalogue is the first season of BeddyByes (52 x 11’, Jam Media), the mindful and calming series featuring loveable characters MeMo and BaBa that supports healthy daily routines and The Day You Begin (1 x 45’; Atomic Cartoons), and animated journey of self-acceptance, courage, and the magic that comes when we connect with others. Additional titles in the expanded slate are new seasons of fan and buyer favourites, including Season 4 of BooSnoo! (25 x 7’; Visionality Media and Mackinnon & Saunders), Season 7 of All-Round Champion (10 x 60’; Blue Ant Studios), a third season of the endearing Old Enough! (8 x 30’; Blue Ant Studios).

“We are thrilled to see leading platforms around the world responding to the joy and originality of Tralala. It’s a great example of the kind of distinctive programming in our slate that combines a strong creative voice and memorable characters that connect with young viewers.” said Diane Rankin, EVP & GM, Content and Rights – Kids, Family & YA, Blue Ant. “This is the biggest kids lineup we’ve ever taken to market, bringing together series from incredible independent producers around the world as well as our own Studios teams within Blue Ant. Our strategy is to work with premium kids and family content in animation and live action that international audiences will love; building fandom that our consumer products team can grow into brands beyond the screen.”
