Besides iQiyi’s Malay drama series, audiences can also look forward to other upcoming titles in Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.
iQiyi had earlier announced the global launch of The Wind Blows From Longxi (风起陇西), the streamer’s tentpole drama of the year, which will be premiering worldwide on 27 April.
The Wind Blows from Longxi takes place during the Three Kingdoms era in China, telling the story of two small-fry characters on the secret intelligence line – Chen Gong (played by Chen Kun) and Xun Xu (played by Bai Yu). The drama series focuses on the perspectives of characters deemed unimportant in their surroundings, and blends their destinies together in a spy war taking place in a period setting.
Ordinary Greatness(警察荣耀)stars popular Chinese actress Bai Lu, and tells the story of four young policemen who have just joined the force, each carrying their ideals and dreams. Facing the challenges of work pressures and social conflicts, the young policemen overcome the obstacles in front of them to grow into honorable policemen that serve the people.
In Shooting Stars, Lee Sung Kyung plays Oh Han-Byeol, a PR lead at a management company which manages actor Gong Tae-Sung (played by Kim Young Dae). While he has a wonderful public image, he is actually bad-tempered outside of the public eye, and gets along poorly with Oh.
Last but not least, iQiyi is also introducing the classic anime series Tokyo Ghoul on its platform. The series follows Ken Kaneki, a student who survives an encounter with a ghoul (beings who consume human flesh). He becomes a half-ghoul, and joins a coffee shop run by ghouls as he adapts to his new identity, while continuing to live his human life.
