Leading independent distributor All3Media International, in collaboration with co-production partners ARD Degeto (Germany), MASTERPIECE (USA), ITV (UK) and NPO (Holland) confirmed that Company Pictures’ hit detective drama Van der Valk has been commissioned for a third series.

The order totals three new 2-hour episodes of the critically acclaimed Amsterdam-set detective drama, which is led by Marc Warren in the titular role of Commissaris Piet Van der Valk.

Chris Murray continues as lead writer and showrunner, alongside co-writer Maria Ward and Michele Buck returns as Executive Producer for Company Pictures with NL Film. The new third season will go into production later this month.

All3Media International has already secured a host of sales worldwide for the first two seasons of Van der Valk (6 x 120’ in total). Since the drama launched in 2019, deals have been signed with Discovery (Italy), France Televisions (France), NRK (Norway), TV2 (Denmark), TV4 (Sweden), HRT (Croatia), Canal Cosmopolitan (Spain). It has also been acquired by NHK (Japan), ViuTVsix (Hong Kong), ABC (Australia), Sky (New Zealand), DirecTV (Latin America) and BBC Global Channels (Africa).
