Leading independent distributor All3Media International has finalised five new content deals in Hong Kong, sending a raft of premium documentaries, factual entertainment titles and primetime dramas to broadcasters and platforms in the territory.
Hong Kong Pay-TV platform, Now TV has secured a diverse variety of factual content. The deal, which features a total of nine titles, includes Nutopia’s A World of Calm (10 x 30 mins), which combines mesmeric imagery with narration by A-list stars including Mahershala Ali, Nicole Kidman and Zoë Kravitz to offer a timely antidote to modern life. 72 Films’ Diana (1hr 30mins), the definitive portrait of the princess and Studio Ramsay’s two-part special Gordon Ramsay on Cocaine (2 x 1hr) also head to the platform as well as Brook Lapping Productions’ The Hunt for Gaddafi’s Billions (1 x 1hr 30mins)) and globally resonant documentary The Anti-Vax Conspiracy (1 x 90 mins) from award-winning producers, Caravan and Quicksilver Media.
Two premium dramas have also been acquired by Now TV in Hong Kong – both seasons of critically acclaimed character-driven financial thriller Blinded (both 8 x 1hr), from Sweden’s FLX TV, and New Gold Mountain (4 x 1 hr), a period murder mystery from Australia’s Goalpost Television that tells the story of Australian Gold Rush from the perspective of the Chinese mining community.
A package of scripted and non-scripted titles is heading to Hong Kong’s ViuTVsix. The free-to-air channel has signed rights to Snowed-In Productions’ psychological thriller Too Close (3 x 1 hr), starring BAFTA winner Emily Watson and Olivier winner Denise Gough, as well as Studio Lambert’s emotive drama Three Families (2 x 1hr), and series two of TXTV’s gripping crime drama Innocent (4 x 1hr). Also included are The Cube USA (Objective Media Group, 11 x 1 hr), The Cube Australia (ITV Studios, 10 x 1hr), and three series of Great Canal Journeys (Spun Gold TV, 24 x 1 hr in total).
Hong Kong’s TVB has acquired Michel Roux’s French Country Cooking (8 x 1hr), a stunning culinary journey through Southern France from Outline Productions, and both seasons of The Art of Architecture (Colonial American Productions, 20 x 1hr in total), which explores the work of some of the world’s most famous contemporary architects. Finally, public broadcaster RTHK has signed both series of health-focused series Live Well for Longer (4 x 1 hr).
