Highly successful and double Emmy® nominated UK indie SWR Media is now rebranded as Dash Pictures, it was announced by the company’s Founder and Executive Producer, Daniel Sharp. Based in London and Los Angeles, Daniel has directed and produced for SVOD, national and cable networks on one-hour, episodic US and international shows.
Dash Pictures, along with international distributor Abacus Media Rights, also revealed first look images of its brand-new project Vikings: The Rise and Fall with the release of a dynamic trailer. The 6 x 60’ series, produced by Dash Pictures and Night Train Media, takes the viewer on a journey through history, where Vikings waged war from the seas, notoriously ruthless and with their own set of rules. The Viking expansion was unprecedented in the veracity of its spread. Known for merciless bloodshed, the Norsemen became the most feared people in history.

James and Oliver Phelps enchanted audiences worldwide as mischievous but loveable twins Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise. After ten years as part of one of the most iconic film casts in history, James and Oliver have continued to capture the world’s imagination, travelling the globe on magical adventures. Currently in production in stunning locations, Fantastic Friends will be available for pre-sale through Off The Fence.
Recent series, Disasters Engineered, bought by Discovery UK and US, has been Emmy® nominated for both season one and two. This informative and innovative factual series, now totalling 20 x 60’ episodes, sees engineers push the boundaries of innovation leading humanity towards our greatest achievements, and continues to be in demand across the globe. Disasters Engineered is produced by Dash Pictures and Intermission Film, in association with DCD Rights for Science Channel & Discovery UK.
Daniel Sharp comments, “We’ve been using the SWR name since 2006 when our business was involved in magazine publishing, software development as well as TV and film. For almost eight years, we’ve been focussed solely on television and film, so we felt it was important to update the name to reflect that. We’ve been busy working on back-to-back productions for a number of years, luckily over the pandemic we received greenlights on two large shows which kept our entire team busy and it’s only now, as we come out of the pandemic and with the confidence to grow the team, that we’ve found time to manage the transition from SWR Media to Dash Pictures.”
Daniel has directed and produced for many broadcast giants such as BBC, Channel 4, Discovery, NatGeo, A+E, History and Travel Channel. Commercial clients include Rolls Royce, Triumph Motorcycles, Riva Yachts, Tag-Heuer, Bamford Watches and promos for Above & Beyond and Nina Nesbitt.
Daniel’s first love has always been travel, discovering the cultures and people of the world. This passion has brought his work to more than thirty countries, working with A-list talent including Ray Winstone, Chris Martin, Paula Abdul, Bonnie Wright, Evanna Lynchand Rupert Everett.
Prior to working in the Film and TV industry Daniel was the Founder & CTO of technology company Stonewash which specialised in creating tablet and smartphone applications for media companies – the company was acquired in 2016 by an Italian venture capitalist.
