Smighties head for China as Herotainment and UYoung agree to partner

December 11, 2018 by Ang Yi An

Herotainment, the New York-based award-winning company that produces YouTube smash hit animated series Smighties, has announced that it has teamed up with leading Chinese children’s entertainment and media company UYoung to represent the property in China.

The fantastical comedy adventure series initially launched on YouTube Kids in July 2017, and its YouTube channel has amassed almost 30 million views to date. With a growing audience, the 39’ x 7’ TV series features engaging characters and entertaining storylines written by an Emmy-Award winning team of writers.

Created by Herotainment Co-founders Caryn and Wade Teman with an Emmy-winning writing and composing team whose credits include DuckTales, Winnie the Pooh and Super Wings, Smighties is a 360-degree transmedia entertainment property aimed at boys and girls from four to eight which follows six main unique and lovable characters – small and mighty heroes from a magical land – in a cartoon adventure that’s part fun, part heroic, with lots of heart and humor. Family-friendly entertainment with positive messaging, it empowers kids to believe that though you are small, you can still dream BIG!

The Smighties star in three mobile games – Mighty Smighties, Smighty Stack and Smighty Sweeper – that have millions of downloads combined. Additional mobile games are currently in production for imminent launch.
