KIX to premiere new reality series “Extreme Ends”

October 4, 2018 by TVA Editor

HONG KONG – Asian action entertainment network KIX has announced the October 17 premiere date for its original production Extreme Ends.  In collaboration with Hong Kong Tourism Board, this series follows four Southeast Asian celebrities and their special guests to experience the extreme opposite sides of the vibrant city Hong Kong.

“We’re very pleased to be working with Hong Kong Tourism Board once more, and excited to give audiences a different perspective, showing them the contrasts and duality of Hong Kong. With each of the celebrities and their guests going through specially-selected activities, viewers also get to see a different side of their personality, revealing the relationships they share. This is a wonderful formula that invites viewers to travel with them on every adventure,” said Betty Tsui, Vice President, Programming, KIX and Thrill, Celestial Tiger Entertainment.

“We are glad to partner Celestial Tiger Entertainment again, given the success of The Ultimate BROcation. Hong Kong remains as Southeast Asians’ destination of choice for its diversified dining options, shopping experiences, nightlife and events; as well as thrilling adventures overseeing breathtaking natural sceneries. The celebrities from the different Southeast Asian countries in the series will definitely bring new insights and inspire the audience to create their very own authentic experiences when they visit Hong Kong, and discover Hong Kong like a local,” said Raymond Chan, Regional Director, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Extreme Ends is a four-episode series featuring the richness and diversity of the island, where travellers can experience the best of everything and discover Hong Kong’s diversity.  Participating in these exhilarating adventures are popular Filipino actor and swimmer Enchong Dee with his good celebrity friend and actress Ria Atayde; Malaysia’s award-winning actress Siti Saleha and her husband Ahmad Lutfi Azhar; up-and-coming Thai singer and actor Gun Ratchanon, paired with his celebrity friend and singer Ticha Gtwenty; and Indonesia’s popular fashion model, presenter and radio announcer Patricia Gouw, together with her friend Chika Mailoa.

In this original series, viewers get an entertaining glimpse into the relationship between the celebrities and their guests. At the same time, viewers will get to see new sides of Hong Kong they have never seen before.  Each episode will feature a theme of extreme opposites, including “Hidden & Exposed”, “Fast & Slow”, “Day & Night” and “High & Low”.  These themes showcase the fascinating contrasts, non-stop intensity and distinctively trendy attributes of Hong Kong.

Each of the four celebrities was selected for their distinct personality and appetite for adventure.   Enchong Dee from the Philippines first came to prominence after scoring the lead role in the hit TV drama Katorse in 2009.  He has already won 13 awards at the age of 29 for his outstanding performance in TV shows and movies; Siti Saleha is a two-time winner of Best Actress at Malaysia’s prestigious film industry award shows, appearing in numerous hit TV series and movies.

Patricia Gouw, always charms viewers with her wild and hilarious personality. She became a well-recognised face in her home country of Indonesia with her unique “Patricia Dance” and dazzling smile when she participated in Asia’s Next Top Model; Gun Ratchanon, a rising popstar and actor in Thailand, rose to fame as a member of the boy band EVO 9, then turned to acting. His natural talent quickly helped him gain popularity after appearing in several hit television series.

Extreme Ends is produced by KIX’s parent company Celestial Tiger Entertainment, operator of the largest bouquet of pan-Asian channels dedicated to Asian entertainment.  The show is brought to you by Hong Kong Tourism Board and supported by Harbour City. Extreme Ends will air first and exclusively on KIX.
