Revez develops Singapore’s first digital library for the National Library Board (NLB)
To cater for the growing number of eBook readers, the NLB decided on a systemupdate to enable the digital borrowing of books and magazines. Based on the NLB’s requirements, Revez designed and developed Singapore’s first digital library experience for the National Library Board (NLB). An ongoing initiative since 2014, this included a customised suite of eBook related applications and services that was deployed island-wide to various NLB libraries.
Features for this front-end application includes:
- Content management system (CMS): where users can view personalised content
displayed at the kiosk.
- Kinect motion-detection station: which allows users to select and loan books by
making ‘grabbing’ hand gestures.
- Software as a Service (SaaS): to offer users an engaging digital library experience
and promote its eBook collection, also enabling virtual expansion of the digital library.
