Singapore – Lifetime, A+E Networks Asia’s leading female–focused entertainment TV brand, recorded top average primetime English general entertainment (GE) ratings on StarHub TV in Singapore, and Astro’s Variety Pack in Malaysia, propelled by stellar viewership of the latest season of MasterChef Australia.
Driven by the ninth edition of the culinary competition reality series from Down Under, Lifetime enjoyed the highest average primetime ratings across 12 reported English GE channels in StarHub TV’s entertainment pack, among subscribers ages 15 and over.
In Malaysia, MasterChef Australia Season 9 also took Lifetime to the number one spot in average primetime ratings across the six channels of Astro’s Variety Pack, among Astro viewers ages 15 and over.
With new episodes premiering on weeknights, the 63-part Master Chef Australia Season 9 features 24 new home cooks from different walks of life. They overcome exciting culinary challenges presided over by celebrity judges Gary Mehigan, Matt Preston and George Calombaris. International celebrity chefs such as Heston Blumenthal and Janice Wong are guests on the show.
Off-screen, Lifetime will be bringing the MasterChef Australia experience closer to Malaysian fans with internationally acclaimed food journalist and series judge Matt Preston to star at the upcoming History Con.
In addition to MasterChef Australia, Lifetime ratings are also attributed in part to Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland. Lifetime Original Movies continues to be a key programming pillar of the female targeted network and viewers can expect a fresh slate of films in the final quarter of 2017.
In August, Lifetime viewers can look forward to an expanded new season of the romance reality series, Married at First Sight Australia. Season 4 follows 10 couples over 29 episodes, up from five pairs over eight episodes in the previous season.In addition, audiences are set for a new look and identity for Lifetime in Asia, as part of the global refresh of the network.
