Singapore- Winter is here in Asia this July as HBO Asia prepares Game Of Thrones fans with a series of activities and activations in the region including Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia. This allows for fans in the region to brace themselves for the highly-anticipated seven-episode seventh season premiering in Asia the same time as the U.S. on Monday, July 17 at 9am (SIN), with a same day primetime encore at 9pm (SIN). The series will also be streaming on HBO GO and airing on HBO On Demand.
Based on the popular book series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” by George R.R. Martin, this hit Emmy-winning fantasy series chronicles an epic struggle for power in a vast and violent kingdom. Members of the ensemble cast include Emmy and Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Aidan Gillen, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams.
The HBO channel across 23 territories in Asia will be taken over by Game Of Thrones themed visuals and animation. Tune in to HBO throughout the week and spot a White Walker that will make a surprise visit during any programme showing on the channel. Fans will also be treated to Asia-exclusive interviews with the cast between programmes as well as be fully immersed in the different realms of Game Of Thrones with animated backgrounds and visuals throughout the week.
Fans were treated to 16 Game Of Thrones themed sculptures on tips of fragile graphite pencils produced by renowned Russian artist and sculptor, Salavat Fidai. The artist himself was also in Singapore for a limited time where he held live demonstrations of his craft to promote the exhibition. HBO Asia organized a cocktail party to celebrate the launch of the exhibition where guests were treated to an exclusive preview of the pencil microsculptures before the exhibition was open to public – guests in attendance were industry and business partners.
