Asia-Pacific, Singapore – CJ E&M, has announced the launch of its latest venture in Singapore – tvN Movies – world’s FIRST & ONLY Korean Blockbuster movie channel via StarHub TV (Ch. 818). To enable greater convenience, the channel is also available on demand as tvN Movies VOD HD. Audiences can catch it anytime on StarHub TV Channel 819, or stream it On Demand Channel via StarHub Go, StarHub’s online streaming service.
tvN Movies strives to transform Korean movies into the mainstream market, hence, it has presented The Age of Shadows (now in Singapore cinemas) and MASTER star tour in Singapore with special appearance of leading actors Gang Dong-won 姜栋元, Kim Woo-bin 金宇彬and director Cho Ui-seok 曹谊锡 on 12 January in Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa. tvN Movies has also hosted a VIP cocktail reception for the Gala Premiere of MASTER on the same night at Capitol Theatre. During the occasion, guests enjoy bottles of mini Moët and Korean canapés before catching the preview of this Korean blockbuster movie, which is in Singapore cinemas.
The grand finale of tvN Movies’ launch series includes special appearance of popular Korean movie stars Shim Eun-kyung 沈恩敬and Yeo Jin-goo 吕珍九. During the tvN Movies Launch Press Conference, the two award-winning movie stars share the stage to talk vividly about their movie career development and up-coming projects, Korean movies as well as their New Year resolution. They also toast to the success of tvN Movies together with representatives from tvN Movies, Mr DJ Lee, President, Media Content Business of CJ E&M and Mr Samey Lee, CEO of CJ E&M HK, as well as representatives from StarHub, Mr Tan Tong Hai, Chief Executive Officer and Ms Lee Soo Hui, Head & VP, Content Business Unit. Following the Film Talk, tvN Movies hosts the award presentation ceremony of its very first tvN Movies Awards, where winners were chosen by netizens via an online polling organised by tvN Movies earlier. The winners of “Most Promising Actress” and “Most Promising Actor”, Shim Eun-kyung and Yeo Jin-goo accept their trophies during the ceremony, adding yet another award to their trophy cabinet.
The launch series ends on a high note of the Movie Screening Party of Miss Granny《奇怪的她》, the movie that brought Shim Eun-kyung multiple “Best Actress” awards and boosted her career to the next level.
