Globo will attend the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) in Singapore on December 7-9. During the event, the Brazilian network will unveil two new releases to the Asian market: ‘Total Dreamer’ and ‘Time After Time’. Scheduled to be officially released during the 2017 Natpe, these productions feature unique formats as one of the network’s efforts to keep up with new market trends and constantly innovate on how it creates quality stories for viewers around the world.
In addition to these two titles, Globo will present its 2016 catalog, that also feature series, miniseries, movies and the famous telenovelas, which have been captivating audiences around the world for more than 40 years.
The modern fairy tale Total Dreamer was an absolute ratings blockbuster in Brazil. The telenovela’s multi-platform initiatives brought TV viewers even closer to all of the tales of love and resilience lived by the characters. The telenovela was a major hit in Brazil, reaching 182 million viewers (Source: Ibope). Total Dreamer was aired on Globo’s pay-TV channel in Portugal, reaching 154,000 viewers, ranked among the TOP 5 most watched Pay TV programs in the country.
Another of Globo’s highlights for the event is the thrilling Time After Time; a love story that stands the test of time. Set in two different time periods, the telenovela plays around the story of Lívia and Felipe who are prevented from living out a love story in the 19th century. Some 150 years later, the couple meets again in a completely different context, but with a feeling just as intense as before.
To break the plot into two different parts, separated by 150 years from each other, required an impressive adaptation of settings and characterization of environments and actors. The telenovela portrays an ingenious storyline between the characters, which maintains their essence and the central role of their love over time, surrounded by intriguing subplots. ‘Time After Time’ reached more than 173 million viewers in Brazil.
