Barcelona – Guido Rud’s FilmSharks Intl. has acquired international sales rights to Argentine movie Inseparables, a Latino remake of Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache’s French dramedy hit Untouchables which grossed $427 million worldwide, sold by Gaumont. Disney’s Buena Vista Intl. has taken South American rights –including Argentina, with the exception TV/VOD LATAM , Theatrical in Chile, Colombia and Mexico– to Inseparables.

According to FilmSharks Intl., there are ongoing distribution talks with a U.S. studio and on other key territories. U.S., French and Spanish deals will close shortly.Carrying over the strong feel-good vibes of Toledano and Nakache’s original buddy comedy, the Argentine Inseparables bowed in Argentina on August 11, scoring 350,000 admissions. Some local reviewers talked the redo up as better than the original French hit.

Produced by Luis Alberto Scalella’s Argentina Sono Film and Argentine TV network Telefe, Inseparables is directed by Marco Carnevale, responsible for Argentine successes such as Elsa & Fred and Heart of a Lion. Untouchables premiered at Venice, garnering an upbeat reaction from audiences and reviewers.Venice best actor winner Óscar Martínez, star of Gaston Duprat and Mariano Cohn’s The Distinguished Citizen headlines as the wealthy quadriplegic. Rodrigo de la Serna, the co-star of Walter Salles’ The Motorcycle Diaries, plays his caregiver.

“The movie is a 40 million ticket property remade into a new version which is better than the original film according to the critics, and premiered at one of the top film festivals. It is a killer for sure; we expect to sell it to more than 75 countries,” FilmSharks Intl. founder Guido Rud enthusiastically told Variety.
