The grand finale of the Turkish Utopia, Utopya, aired last Sunday night on TV8. Talpa’s ground-breaking reality show was extended after its initial nine-month run to an impressive 11 months.
During its run, the series increased the channel’s average market share with an astounding 300%, securing a market share of 32% during the finale. On average, close to 100,000 users per day used the accompanying app and website. The successful format secured almost 342 million live and video starts during its run.
The ultimate social experiment saw a group of 15 passionate individuals, the pioneers of today, bid farewell to their current lives to build an entirely new society. They had to build it from scratch, in a place where no rules or laws exist. The program offers a 360 experience for the viewer, who could even become part of the community with a Utopia passport.
