Hong Kong – Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE) announced its plan to launch a new dedicated Over-The-Top (OTT) linear feed for its action entertainment channel KIX. The new high definition (HD) OTT linear channel will make its debut in Singapore in the fourth quarter of 2015 and will be rolled out progressively across the region in first half of 2016.
The new linear service, branded KIX 360, complements KIX’s existing top-rated linear and on demand channels and completes the viewing experience for KIX subscribers.
“We are very excited to be launching a dedicated OTT channel in HD for our male-targeted action brand KIX,” said Todd Miller, Chief Executive Officer, Celestial Tiger Entertainment. “Fans in Asia will be able to get into action on multiple platforms, at home and on the go with KIX 360. In addition, we are curating the channel to ensure a great viewing experience on screens large and small.”
KIX’s dedicated OTT linear feed will offer the same exhilarating mix of combat sports, cutting-edge action series and action movies as the linear service, but the programmes will be carefully curated for mobile-viewing. Programmes will include both long-form and short-form programming. Some of the premium franchises viewers can expect to see on the OTT channel include Bellator MMA, Glory World Series, and Top Gear with Top Gear Korea, Top Gear USA and Top Gear Australia.
With a slate of first and exclusive action-packed programmes, KIX HD has become one of the most sought-after channels across Asia. In Malaysia, KIX HD is the #1 English general entertainment HD channel and in the Philippines, KIX is one of the top 4 regional English GE channels so far this year.
