Globo’s blockbusters Precious Pearl, Now Generation and Helena’s Shadow, featured in the 2015 catalogue that the broadcaster took to Cannes, have recently been licensed to air in Mongolia’s TV5 network. The thrilling and catchy plots promise to turn the eyes of Mongolian viewers. TV5 is Mongolia’s largest free-to-air channel, broadcasting its programming on national network and online streaming.
With its own captive audience in Asia, Globo’s titles recently expanded its presence in Mongolian channel. One of Globo’s partners, TV5 was licensed to air the global hit The Life We Lead in 2014. Last year, the Brazilian network sold Brave Woman exhibition rights to NTV. Broadcasting mostly original Mongolian shows, the channel started to add foreign productions to its grid.

Precious Pearl performed well in Brazil, with a daily audience of 26 million viewers, and also fared well in Portugal. Aired in the basic Globo channel, the telenovela constantly ranked among the 5 most watched cable TV shows in the country.
In Now Generation, computer whiz Jonas Marra (Brazil Avenue) built fame and fortune in the Silicon Valley, in California, with his renowned technology corporation. However, at the peak of his success, a secret forces him to face conflicts that lead him to a new life and a new love. Featuring a roller coaster of twists and turns, the telenovela set in California, Recife and Rio de Janeiro recorded average ratings of 22 points and 41% share, seen by over 31 million viewers per day.
Helena’s Shadow is a telenovela written by renowned Manoel Carlos, author of several Globo hits in Brazil and around the world, such as Pages of Life and Seize the Day. Comings and goings are normal in the lives of cousins Laerte (Irrational Heart) and Helena (Looks & Essence). On their wedding day, Laerte’s obsessive jealousy separates him from Helena. Twenty years later, he meets Luiza (Brave Woman), the daughter of his former lover. They fall in love, which deeply affects Helena’s marriage and her relationship with her daughter, who ends up repeating her mother’s mistakes.
The story aired during Prime time in Brazil and recorded average ratings of 31 points and a 55% share, reaching 44 million viewers per day. In the last episode, aired on 17 July 2014, Internet posts about the story on Globo’s fan page reached over 1 million likes. Aired by SIC in Portugal, Helena’s Shadow ranked among the top 20 most watched shows in the country.
