Endemol Shine UK announced the creation of a new scripted production label, Bandit Television.
Award winning Executive Producer Phillippa Giles will oversee the new venture as Managing Director, joining the company from BBC Drama where her career spans over 25 years.
Giles is behind the Golden Globe winning series Luther starring Idris Elba and long-running procedural hit Silent Witness, which she revamped with a new cast lead by Emilia Fox.
Bandit Television will create and produce original dramas for the UK market, which will be distributed globally by Endemol Shine International.
“Phillippa is an exceptionally talented producer with a strong track record and vision for successful procedural dramas” said Richard Johnston, CEO of Endemol Shine UK. “The launch of Bandit Television further signifies our commitment to creating a diverse slate of world class scripted content for the worldwide audience.”

Giles brings an array of award winning drama experience to Bandit Television, with credits including BAFTA winning serial Our Mutual Friend; and Emmy Award winner Jane Eyre along with acclaimed productions A Fatal Inversion; No Night Is Too Long; The Peacock Spring; North and South; The Alan Clark Diaries; and Emma. She also won a BAFTA in 1990 with her first producer credit on the critically acclaimed serial Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit.
Bandit Television joins Endemol Shine UK’s outstanding portfolio of drama production labels which includes Artists Studio (The Fall for BBC Two, starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan), Brown Eyed Boy (Vicious for ITV starring Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi), Fifty Fathoms (Fortitude for Sky Atlantic starring Stanley Tucci, Christopher Eccleston and Sofie Gråbøl), House of Tomorrow(Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror for Channel 4), Kudos (Broadchurch for ITV starring Olivia Coleman and David Tennant), Lovely Day (Grantchester for ITV starring James Norton and Robson Green) and Tiger Aspect (Peaky Blinders forBBC Two starring Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory) as well as the recently launched Cave Bear Productions.
