London – Hat Trick International continues to ship its culinary themed factual portfolio around the world, confirming a host of new sales for Keo Films’ Ottolenghi’s Mediterranean Feast and River Cottage Australia.
Produced for the UK’s Channel 4, both 4 x 1’ seasons of Ottolenghi’s Mediterranean Feast have been picked up by AMC Networks for Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Moldova. Further acquisitions have also been signed with Bloomberg (Turkey), Channel 8 (Israel), ITI (Poland), Home Channel (South Africa), Globosat (Brazil), DR (Denmark), YLE (Finland), RTL (Germany), RUV (Iceland), Living Channel (New Zealand) and MediaCorp (Singapore).
Ottolenghi’s Mediterranean Feast follows renowned chef Yotam Ottolenghi as he embarks on a sun-soaked culinary journey from the spice markets of Morocco to the exotic eateries of Istanbul, decoding the history of the region on a plate and inspiring viewers to bring a touch of the Mediterranean into their own kitchens.
Also produced by Keo Films, with its Australian partner Keo Films Australia, for Foxtel’s The Lifestyle Channel, are three series of River Cottage Australia, which has been picked up in pan regional deals with AMC Networks for Central and Eastern Europe and Scripps Network for Asia. In addition, deals are confirmed with TV2 for Denmark, Sky/Prime for New Zealand and ITI for Poland. The first season (8 x 1’) is also currently airing on the UK’s More4.
In the ratings-winning River Cottage Australia, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall takes his life-enriching experiment in self-sufficiency from Dorset to Down Under, handing the River Cottage baton to Australian counterpart and Tasmanian chef Paul West as he attempts to set up his own farm on the far South Coast of New South Wales.
Hat Trick International has an ongoing representation deal with UK-based Keo Films, which sees it distributing almost 200 hours of the award-winning producer’s new and back catalogue content.
Sarah Tong, Director of Sales at Hat Trick International, commented, “We’re very pleased to announce these latest deals, both series combine culinary inspiration with unique themes that will appeal to viewers around the world, and broadcasters have been quick to recognise their potential. Australia’s take on the River Cottage format delivers a strong, yet accessible, message of sustainability in this social experiment; while Ottolenghi’s Mediterranean Feast uncovers the history, traditions and innovations at the heart of this vibrant region, resulting in a rich and diverse series.”
