Metropolitan TV Sdn. Bhd (hereunder, “8TV”) and Primeworks Studios Sdn. Bhd (hereunder, “Primeworks Studios”), both companies in Malaysia’s media group, Media Prima Berhad (hereunder, Media Prima), Nippon Television Network Corporation (hereunder, “Nippon TV”), and Sumitomo Corporation announced that the jointly produced railway travel television programme, Welcome To The Railworld Japan, will begin broadcasting in Malaysia from 15 January.

Content: To introduce tourist destinations, food and culture of 9 regions throughout Japan (Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, Okinawa regions) and Tokyo while traveling by train.
Welcome To The Railworld Japan, which filmed for over 50 days, will be the Japanese version of the hit Malaysian TV series, Welcome To The Railworld, produced by Primeworks Studios in 2010. The host, Henry Golding, will travel throughout the country from Hokkaido to Okinawa, and he will introduce the food and culture that he saw, heard, and felt along the way at each destination to the Malaysian viewers. The theme of the programme is “travel by railway,” and Henry will invite viewers to join him on the safe, punctual, comfortable, and exciting railroads, from local trains to the “Shinkansen” bullet train, for which Japan is known throughout the world.
