Vietnam Television (VTV) has licensed 4 seasons of Armoza’s crime drama The Arbitrator. The 4 seasons will comprise 45 episodes and will be locally known as Äối mặt trong bóng Ä‘êm (Facing the Darkness).
Production is set to start in 2015 with air dates starting from early 2016, and will be headed up by VTV’s production company, the Vietnam Television Film Center (VFC).
This deal comes soon after Vietnam’s Last Multimedia picked up Armoza’s new prime time entertainment show The People’s Choice and follows on from a focus on the region from the international independent formats company.
The Arbitrator (60’) is a riveting drama that follows a by-the-book social worker in his mid-twenties who discovers that he is the lost son of the Underworld’s most powerful man – The Arbitrator. In spite of himself, he finds himself drawn deeper into his father’s dark world. With each step he is asked to cross boundaries he never thought to question, and to re-evaluate the morals he was raised with. As he travels further down a path of no return, he will ultimately face the final test: to fight his brother and take over his father’s legacy as The Arbitrator, or return to the life he led before he went down the rabbit hole.
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, “We are thrilled to be working with VTV on The Arbitrator and look forward to continuing to expand our reach in Vietnam and in Asia. The Asian market is an incredibly important one and we are happy to continue building the foundations for long-term partnerships.”
