Carlos Santos
Miami, Florida – Venevision Productions, a Cisneros Media production house and the independent producer of Spanish-language programming in the United States, announced the appointment of Carlos Santos as Director of Content & Artistic Development. The accomplished Mexican actor and director with over 25 years of experience will be based at Cisneros Media’s state-of-the-art production studios in the heart of Miami and report directly to the EVP of Operations, Juan Carlos Sosa.
“Among his new responsibilities, Carlos will oversee the design and development of stories and scripts, as well as the talent and casting departments, in addition to supervising the artistic direction of our productions,” Sosa explained. “Carlos comes as part of the renewal process of the company’s talent, which I initiated immediately upon my appointment as head of the studios at the end of the past year.”
An alumnus of Televisa’s Centre for Artistic Education (known by its Spanish acronym, CEA), Santos has participated in a number of theatre companies and has worked for some of the most important Spanish-language television networks in the United States and Mexico. As a member of the Venevision Productions’ directorial team since 2010, Santos have been a director for the productions of such important telenovelas as Sacrificio de Mujer, Eva Luna, Corazon Apasionado, El Talisman, Rosario, Cosita Linda, and currently Voltea; as well as for the tele-series DeMente Criminal.
Santos led the direction of the web-novela No Me Hallo for Univision in Los Angeles, and also took part as an actor, acting coach and director in a number of major productions by the Telemundo network, including Mas Sabe el Diablo, El Rostro de Analia, Pecados Ajenos, and Dame Chocolate.
In Mexico, Santos worked for the Televisa group for more than 10 years, during which time he excelled as an actor, director and conductor, as well as a professor of theatre, acting and television at Televisia’s Centre of Artistic Education (CEA). He also partook in various productions, such as Heridas de Amor, Corazones al Limite, Amor Real, Salome, and Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real, among many others, where he shared credits with renowned actors and actresses. In addition, Santos has made short films and movies, been a keynote speaker, and held important acting workshops in both South Florida and Mexico.
