Colombians can once again get involved and be moved by Globo’s telenovelas. The major production Trail of Lies, premiered on 17 September, on RCN’s primetime, one of Latin America’s media groups. RCN has also licensed the exciting The Life We Lead, which will be premiering in the country soon. The channel had also aired, with resounding success, the world phenomenon Brazil Avenue, marking the return of Globo’s telenovelas to the country. Now, the elements to continue to captivate audiences will carry on with new plots.
Set in the rich and effervescent city of São Paulo, Trail of Lies was a success in Brazil and in Portugal, where it was aired by SIC and featured among the 10 most-watched programmes in the country. The telenovela was licensed for 16 countries such as Mexico (Azteca Trece), Poland (ITVN), Armenia (Public TV), USA (MundoFox), Mozambique (Soico) and Argentina (Telefe).
Trail of Lies
Trail of Lies tells the story of Paloma (Paolla Oliveira, Irrational Heart) a willful woman whose newborn baby is kidnapped by her own brother, Félix (Mateus Solano, Seize the Day), who plans to become the sole heir to his family’s fortune. And Bruno (Malvino Salvador, Looks & Essence) an honest man who on the same night he lost his wife and son, miraculously finds Paloma’s child abandoned in a dumpster. Fate will cross their paths in a plot filled with secrets, revelations, and conflicts, with unpredictable consequences of lives spun over a dangerous and startling web of lies.
The telenovela The Life We Lead has been winning over fans worldwide. The plot has already had its broadcasting rights acquired by 98 countries, becoming one of Globo’s most licensed telenovelas. In Uruguay (Teledoce), Costa Rica (Teletica), and Ecuador (Ecuavisa), the telenovela was a primetime leader. Europe has also surrendered to this beautiful production. On Globo’s TV channel in Portugal, the plot was one of the most watched programmes on cable in the country.
The Life We Lead tells the story of Ana (Fernanda Vasconcellos, Pages of Life), a promising tennis player who counts on the support of her best friend and sister, Manuela (Marjorie Estiano, Two Faces). After a tragic accident, Ana goes into a coma, and remains that way for five years. When she awakes, she has to recover a life that went on without her, a life she no longer recognises as her own.
