Cartoon Network Watch and Play
Hong Kong – Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific has announced a major enhancement to its Cartoon Network Watch and Play app, allowing Cartoon Network subscribers in Asia to live-stream the channel via a free authenticated service for the first time.
From the end of October in Thailand, TrueVisions subscribers who have the iPad app installed can simply log-in with their personal ID and password provided by the cable operator to unlock a whole array of value-added services, including Cartoon Network’s live Thai-language feed and additional exclusive content.
“We are very excited to partner with TrueVisions to launch this first-in-Asia authenticated service for Cartoon Network. We’re always looking to offer Cartoon Network fans new ways to connect with our content and to create a truly unique second-screen brand experience,” said Phil Nelson, Turner’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director for North Asia and Southeast Asia Pacific regions. “Watch and Play makes real-time Cartoon Network on-the-go a reality,” he added.
Some of the additional functionality includes full episodes of popular shows including Adventure Time, Ben 10: Omniverse, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball and the upcoming original TV special Monster Beach, and additional native app games.

“Cartoon Network Watch and Play is a significant enhancement offered to TrueVisions Cartoon Network subscribers and really delivers the kind of new brand experience that our customers have come to expect from us. We’re delighted to have partnered with Cartoon Network to deliver our subscribers this innovative real-time interaction and engagement value-added service which is not only a significant milestone for both Cartoon Network and TrueVisions, but also for the branded content industry in Asia,” said Attaphon Na Bangxang, Chief Programme and Content Office of TrueVisions.
The free-to-download Cartoon Network Watch and Play in Asia Pacific was first launched in late 2013 and has already had more than half-a-million downloads in the region. The reason behind the name is that the app allows users to simultaneously watch their favourite TV series and play games with a simple rotation of the device.
