Off the Fence has also produced webisodes of additional content – each looking at one of the featured weather forces – to run alongside the TV broadcast of each episode. The series will premiere on November 17, 2013.
Allison Bean, Managing Director, Off the Fence Productions, says about the series: “It is all about harnessing nature, about how we can face the incredibly powerful forces of the world around us and conquer them. There are some amazing stories that demonstrate how deadly nature can be, and also tales of surviving against all odds. What we bring to this series is our knowledge of how to capture the beauty of the natural world and then marry this with telling real life human stories – and knowing how to do this in a way that is entertaining and captivating for audiences.”
Freaks of Nature was produced out of Off the Fence Productions’ Bristol, UK, office, by Andrew Zikking, and directed by James Hemming, Chloe Pearne and Matt Fletcher. Ellen Windemuth and Allison Bean executive produced for Off the Fence Productions, Jim Gagne and Mary Ellen Iwata executive produced for The Weather Channel. Off the Fence has the distribution rights to the series and debuted it at MIPCOM this year, as part of 800 hours of premium HD content launched at the global content marketplace.
